The Luminist League provides books for inmates of jails and prisons through our Books for Prisoners program. Donated and salvaged books are collected and sorted by volunteers, and packages of books are mailed to prisoners on request without charge. 
 

Prisoners may send requests in writing to LUMINIST PUBLICATIONS, PO BOX 20256, MINNEAPOLIS, MN 55420-0256 USA. Requests should include the prisoner’s full address, including prison ID number, and any relevant package room requirements. We cannot usually fill requests for specific titles. Requests should describe the type of books desired as precisely as possible, and we will select a package of titles that match the request as closely as possible from available stock.
 

Donations are needed to keep this service going. Money is always needed for postage. You may use the link below to donate with a credit/debit card or bank account, or contact us to discuss other arrangements. To send a donation by postal mail, please enclose carefully concealed U.S. cash, or a check or U.S. Postal Money Order made payable to our Treasurer, Dale R. Gowin. Please use this address:
