CONDITION CODE

We describe the condition of used books as accurately as possible. More detailed information and additional scans are available for any item on request. The following abbreviations are used:

NM = Near Mint: like new — virtually indistinguishable from a new book hot off the press.

F = Fine: Still new-looking, but with some very minor defects such as tiny bumps or dents that can be seen under close examination.

NF = Near Fine: A new-looking book with light handling wear.

VG = Very Good: A sturdy, well-preserved book with some signs of use like light creasing on the covers and spine, frayed edges of the dust jacket, or small marks left by a previous owner.

G = Good: Books in this category may be worn, creased, or soiled, but still have complete covers, all pages intact, and bindings secure. These are “reading copies” rather than collector’s items.

FA = Fair: These books have more serious defects such as loose bindings, back cover missing, major chipping or creasing, etc. Still, unless specifically noted, all pages are complete and clearly readable.

P = Poor: covers or pages unbound or missing, or other major defects.

Items which fall between these categories are indicated by + or characters.
