For nearly a decade,
we produced two radio programs which were aired over a fledgling
low-power FM station in Syracuse, New York: The Radio
Liberation Front, which featured music with explicit radical,
dissident, revolutionary and working class content; and After
Midnight, an all-night roots and acoustic music marathon that
tried to recapture some of the psychedelic ambiance of 1960s
free-form or “underground” radio. The community radio
project that hosted these programs collapsed in January 2007,
after a decades-long struggle to create an alternative radio venue
in Syracuse. But our commitment to
alternative radio continues.
